Brian Bloom is a hairy man beast. I used to love a hairy chest when I was a kid. Well, I didn’t want my chest to be hairy, but you know what I mean. I thought Paul Stanley of KISS had the nicest chest ever and I had his poster on my wall. Now hair just kind of freaks me out. I like nice, clean, and smooth. Anyway, back to Brian. I only know of him because he was in my teen magazines. I know he was on a soap opera, but I didn’t watch that one. I’ve watched The Young and the Restless for decades. It truly is the best soap opera around. Man, I’m getting sidetracked easily today. My bad.

Brian Bloom was born with prettiful eyes on June 30, 1970 in Long Island, New York. Bloom landed the role of Dusty Donovan in As the World Turns, which I believe is what he’s best known for. He received an Emmy for his work on the show when he was just 15 and was the youngest winner ever in the Outstanding Young Leading Man category. I don’t think that record still stands. Jonathan Jackson from General Hospital won the award in 1995 (and 1998 and 1999) when he was only 13 or 14. I think some other kid from Santa Barbara won it when he was like 11. I know Drew Tyler Bell from The Bold and the Beautiful just won the award. I don’t really care about the record and I’m guessing Brian doesn’t either.

Bloom left the soap because he got tired of the schedule. I think he was also pissed that he didn’t have a storyline. He said “….in my last years on As the World Turns, I was quite bored. I was disappointed with the direction in which they took my character and storyline. I’d continue to get the most mail on the show and yet, near the end, I was hardly ever on.” It sounds to me like he got a big head. Just my opinion…. BTW, he was getting the most mail because he was in Tiger Beat and Teen Beat. The mail he was getting was from little teenybopper girls who were in school when the soap was on and who probably only watched during the summer.

He had a mediocre acting career once he left As the World Turns. He has a list of credits a mile long, but most are just guest spots on shows. Maybe that was his goal. He also took time to pose in Playgirl. Yay! It’s funny, because he talks about not wanting hunky roles and not wanting to be a heartthrob. Not only does he do the Playgirl shoot, but he also is naked in an episode of Oz. Yay, Brian!

• Best friends with Alyssa Milano.
• Brother is Scott Bloom who played Alyssa Milano’s boyfriend on Who’s the Boss.
• Doesn’t think his gig on As the World Turns really helped his career. Way to be grateful.
• Doesn’t list his Emmy on his resume because he doesn’t want to be typecast as a soap actor. In other words, he’s embarrassed by his background in soaps.
• His youngest brother Mike is a musician who has recorded and toured with Rilo Kiley.

Brian is now doing a lot of voice over work. His hair is going quickly but he still has those gorgeous eyes which he has said he doesn’t care about. (I think he’s lying.) Brian never married and there are rumors that he’s gay. If he is gay, I hope he’ll come out and be a voice for the gay community. If he’s not gay, I hope people will leave him alone. I don’t like that he doesn’t acknowledge his soap career because I truly believe that’s one of the hardest gigs ever. I do like that he’s an animal lover and runs his animal website. He scores big points with me on that, not that it matters…………..

Clay Aiken is a nerd. I like nerds. I think they’re sexy, especially if they’re smart. Clay stood out when he auditioned for the second season of American Idol because of his nerdiness. I remember Randy Jackson being surprised at the big voice that came out of the tiny little nerd boy. I don’t remember what Simon said, but I’m sure it wasn’t nice. (I love Simon BTW. I just think he could word things a bit differently.) I don’t think many people remember this, but Clay was cut from the American Idol competition. He made it to the round of 32 and was then cut. Bummer. He was chosen to return for the Wild Card round and won that which put him in the top 12. He had actually filled out an application to be on The Amazing Race when a friend urged him to audition for American Idol. Interesting. I think he chose correctly.

Clayton Holmes Grissom was born a good ole boy on November 30, 1978 in Raleigh, North Carolina. His dad was a prick so Clay took his mom’s maiden name instead. Good for him! Clay earned his bachelor’s degree in special education in December 2003. I’m impressed with anyone in special ed. I think it takes a very special person to pursue that degree. His degree alone tells me a lot about him.

Clay lost on American Idol, but I think he really won in many ways. He is by far more successful than the winner Ruben Studdard. I love Ruben, but I think Clay should have won. There were over 24 million votes recorded and Studdard won by only 130,000 votes. The phone system was overloaded and they estimate that over 150 million votes were dropped. Mmm…… One of the producers later on revealed that Clay led the voting every single week up until the final. So basically, things got screwed up and Clay should have won. Oh well. It probably worked out for the better.

Clay has accomplished quite a lot since not winning American Idol in 2003. His first solo album, Measure of a Man, went double platinum. He released a Christmas album the following year which also went platinum. He released another Christmas album in 2006 as well as other studio albums. Clay has done a lot of TV appearances and has also appeared on Broadway in Spamalot.

Clay has a son with David Foster’s sister, Jaymes. Parker Foster Aiken was born in 2008. I don’t think Clay and Jaymes did it or anything. I believe she was artificially inseminated. Clay announced later that year that he was gay. I’m glad he finally came out. I’m sure being gay in North Carolina is much harder and less accepted than being gay in California. I think it took guts for him to finally come out. Congrats to him.

Clay gives a lot to various charities. I think he’s a real good guy. He donates his time and his voice to a lot of different great causes. He got a bit freaky looking when he was doing Spamalot. He looked like he had put on weight and seemed kind of greasy looking. Whatever. He’s going out on tour with Ruben Studdard later this month. That should be good. I hope he keeps being the good guy he is and continues to make perty music.

I really only watched this show when I was visiting relatives in North Dakota during the summer. They seemed to like the show. I didn’t dislike it, but I never made time to watch it. I remember thinking the old lady on there was funny. I like funny.

Who’s the Boss ran on ABC for eight years from 1984-1992 and shot a then unknown young Alyssa Milano to fame. It also helped prolong Tony Danza’s career. He had just ended a six year run on the TV show Taxi when he got the part on Who’s the Boss. Other stars of the show were little Danny Pintauro, Katherine Helmond (from the show SOAP), and Judith Light (from the soap One Live to Live).

I guess Tony Danza was pretty much a bitch on the set. I hated hearing that because I was a fan. He pulled a Kirk Cameron on Growing Pains or Robert Reed on The Brady Bunch. He was a Mr. Big Dick and threw his weight around. Bummer.

WHO’S THE BOSS TRIVIA

• The exterior shots of the home used in the opening sequence in real life was located at 13 Onondaga St., Rye, New York.
• The fake address on the show was 3344 Oakhills Drive, in Fairfield, Connecticut.
• The character “Tony Micelli” was ranked #23 in TV Guide’s list of the “50 Greatest TV Dads of All Time”.
• The show premiered on the same day as The Cosby Show.
• 1500 girls auditioned for the role of Samantha Micelli.
• The original title was You’re the Boss.
• The pilot was shot on 11/4/83 but didn’t air until almost a year later in 9/84. If you look closely, Tony’s hairstyle is a lot different from the first episode to the second one.

When the show ended in 1992, the stars went on to mostly have success. Tony Danza appeared in more sitcoms (though not as successful) and, coincidentally, his characters were all named Tony. Smort. He also had his own failed talk show and appeared on Broadway. Oh yeah, he took time to break his back skiing in 1993 and then lost his house in the 1994 Northridge earthquake. Is that what they call karma? Don’t be a bitch, Tony. Hey, that could be a new sitcom! I should be a writer.

Alyssa Milano went on to get lots of tattoos, make albums in Japan, and pose naked in a magazine. She also appeared in Melrose Place, Charmed, and other shows. Little Samantha Micelli is getting ready to hit 40 soon.

Danny Pintauro went on to become gay. That’s cool. I’m glad he’s out and not hiding it. Nobody should have to hide it.

Judith Light and Katherine Helmond have continued to act. Helmond is in her 80′s and still hilarious. She and Betty White should hook up. Judith has had a long career and continues to nab great roles.

So yeah, Who’s the Boss was a cute show. I just saw it recently on the Hallmark channel, so I guess it’s being shown. The episode I saw was where Sam gets her first hickey. Slut. I like the concept of Who’s the Boss. Everyone should have their own manservant.

Ricky Martin was first known to many in the 1980′s as a cute young boy in the Latin boy band, Menudo. I knew about the group Menudo during that time but wasn’t really into them. I remember making fun of a silly song of theirs about a shopping mall or something. They were cute, but their music did nothing for me. I came to really know Ricky Martin as a solo artist in the 1990′s. I think the whole world came to know Ricky Martin during that time. He was all over the place in 1999 with his “Livin’ la Vida Loca”. I never knew what that song meant but I liked the way his hips moved. I figured it was about pelvic thrusts and such.

Enrique Martin Morales was born on December 24, 1971 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He grew up in a Catholic home and was a sweet little altar boy until he joined Menudo in the 1980′s. Ricky replaced longtime Menudo member Ricky Melendez in 1984. After five years with the boy band, Ricky left Menudo in July 1989. After completing high school, Ricky left Puerto Rico and moved to Cancun (via a brief stay in New York) where he began acting. He also started recording again and released his first solo album in 1991.

Ricky Martin had stated that he was involved with Mexican TV host Rebecca de Alba for over 14 years and had at one point planned on proposing to her. I guess it’s a good thing he didn’t because he recently came out as a “fortunate homosexual man”. That’s very cool. I’m glad he didn’t feel the need to hide his sexuality any longer. On the other hand, why is it anyone’s business?

Other than the dimples on my butt, I can’t think of more gorgeous ones than those belonging to Mario Lopez. Like most people, I first noticed Mario when he portrayed Slater on Saved By the Bell. BTW, I still watch that show every morning from 5:00-6:00 while I’m getting ready for my grown up job.

Mario Lopez was born in San Diego on October 10, 1973. I guess he’s mainly an actor but is also a host, dancer, athlete, and bad drummer. His first gig was in 1984 when he portrayed Tomas on the TV show a.k.a Pablo. After that he was a dancer and drummer on Kids Incorporated which also starred Stacy Ferguson (Fergie), Jennifer Love Hewitt, Marta “Martika” Marrero, and Ryan Lambert.

He started playing Albert Clifford “A.C.” Slater in Saved by the Bell in 1989. This show also starred Mark Paul Gosselaar, Tiffani Amber Thiessen, Dustin Diamond, Lark Voorhies, and Elizabeth Berkley.

Mario did lots of stuff after Saved By the Bell. I remember him on some segment you would watch as you’re waiting in line for Space Mountain at Disneyland. Does anyone else remember that? Some of the other shows and movies he was in:

• He played Greg Louganis in the 1997 TV movie Breaking the Surface: The Greg Louganis Story. Mario in a speedo. Praise Jesus.
• He played police officer Bobby Cruz in the 2000 TV show Pacific Blue. I think that’s where he rode around on a bike in tiny shorts.
• He played Dr. Christian Ramirez on the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. I would love to play doctor with Mario.
• He was butt naked (literally) in Nip/Tuck. Praise Jesus more.
• I loved the talk show he did called The Other Half. It was basically Mario along with Danny Bonaduce. Dick Clark was actually part of some shows but he didn’t seem to be around as much as the other two. The show added some dork named Dorian Gregory in the last year. We’re not gonna fall for the banana in the tail pipe.
• I started watching Dancing with the Stars because of Mario Lopez. He danced on the third season of Dancing with the Stars and was the runner up to Emmitt Smith. Mario was definitely the better dancer, but I guess Emmitt had a bigger fan base.

Some other useless Mario trivia:

• Girls were heartbroken when Mario was taken off the market in 2004……for a whole 18 days. He was married to Ali Landry from 4/24/04 to 5/12/04. She had the wedding annulled after hearing of Mario’s alleged infidelity at his bachelor party and then again after they got married. Slut.
• He’s a close friend of Eva Long-whore-ia, I mean Longoria. I wonder how close they are? Mmmm….
• He did it in Dick Clark’s hot tub (he said something like that on The Other Half).
• He became a permanent host for the news magazine show Extra in 2008.
• He made his Broadway debut in 2008 as Zach in A Chorus Line. Don’t you have to be able to sing in order to be in a musical?
• He auditioned to take over for Bob Barker on The Price is Right. That gig went to Drew Carey who drives me crazy.
• He is the host for many different pageants. He has hosted Miss Teen USA, Miss America, Miss Universe, and Miss Skanky Ass. Okay. I made up that last one.

Mario seems like a super nice guy. I’ve never thought anything else in all the years I’ve been watching him. My friend thinks he’s gay. My gaydar is pretty good and I just don’t see anything gay with Mario, not that there’s anything wrong with that. I hope he keeps smiling and taking off his clothes for many years to come.
