I thought I would dedicate my blog today to Robert Pattinson since the movie Eclipse comes out today. I’ll be honest. I’m not a Twilight fan nor have I jumped on board with Team Jacob or Team Edward. I don’t really even know which is which. I’m Team Taylor Lautner. I did see Robert Pattinson in a movie the other night and thought he did an excellent job. It was called Remember Me. He was a troubled young man who looked out for his younger sister. He was killed in the twin towers on 9/11. It was pretty sad but he did an excellent job. Anyhoo……

Robert Thomas Pattinson was born on May 13, 1986 in London, England. He is best known for playing Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Edward Cullen in Twilight. I think he’s best known for being on the cover of every teen magazine in the world.

There are rumors that Robert is dating his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart. I don’t know if they’re rumors or not. Who cares? I hope they’re happy if they are dating. I wouldn’t mind dating Taylor Lautner even though he’s young enough to be my son AND I’m married. Oopsie.

I’ve seen Robert Pattinson on Ellen (I LOVE ELLEN!!) and he seems like a nice guy. I think he’s a good actor and can hopefully emerge from the teen idol stigma and have a serious acting career. I wish him the best.

I loved Jason Bateman as a child actor. I loved his sarcasm and wit. He reminded me of a young Danny Bonaduce from The Partridge Family. His timing was perfect and he was a very funny boy. Then he grew up and I wasn’t as big of a fan.

I first saw Bateman as Ricky Schroder‘s friend on Silver Spoons. Jason was so awesome that he got his own show called It’s Your Move. People didn’t realize how talented he was in that show and it was canceled after just one season. Balls. His next show confused me because the title kept changing. I think it started out as Valerie, then was changed to Valerie’s Family, and then The Hogan Family. I watched it for a bit but lost interest when they kept changing the title.

Jason Kent Bateman was born on January 14, 1969 in New York. He got into acting when he was 10. He followed a friend to an audition and the director asked him to read. Funny how things happen. His first big role was as an Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie. He then went on to have regular roles in Silver Spoons, It’s Your Move, and Valerie’s Family. That’s when I lost interest.

I guess he went on to star in other sitcoms, but I’ve never heard of them and certainly don’t remember seeing them. I remember Jason in the movie Teen Wolf Too in 1987 which was a sequel to the 1985 Teen Wolf movie that Michael J. Fox starred in. Teen Wolf was kind of a remake of I Was a Teenage Werewolf which starred Michael Landon in 1957. Is there kind of almost a six degrees thing going on here? Jason’s sister Justine starred on Family Ties with Michael J. Fox. Jason was in Little House on the Prairie with Michael Landon. Yeah, not quite six degrees but I’m sure I could figure something out if I thought long enough.

I think Jason took parts of the 90′s off to party and be a regular person. He had worked so much of his life and just wanted to relax. He admitted to drinking too much and doing some illegal drugs. The partying didn’t stop when he married his wife. She threatened to leave him so he cleaned up his act. Good boy. Your father-in-law would probably have put a hit out on you if his baby had to divorce you.

Jason is married to one of the many Paul Anka “A” daughters (there’s Amelia, Anthea, Alicia, Amanda, and Alexandra). Paul Anka is an ass. My husband used to work for him and I was around quite a bit to see what Paul was all about. He was always nice to me, but such an evil and bitter little man to many others. Nobody has the right to treat people the way he does. Karma has a big ass surprise for him later on down the road.

JASON BATEMAN TRIVIA

• He became the Dirctors Guild of America’s youngest ever director when he directed three episodes of Valerie’s Family when he was only 18.

Jason was a star once again in 2003 when he starred in the sitcom Arrested Development. He also seems to show up in a lot of movies as a supporting character. I don’t recall him being the lead in a movie for a long time now.

He’s been in the news recently for making out with Dustin Hoffman. Not really. They were sitting next to each other at a Lakers game and when the kiss-cam spotlighted them, they were good sports and kissed. Jason was in the news a few days ago as well for “cutting in line” at the Apple store to get his iPhone. I think that’s a bunch of crap. Jason was waiting in line with 2,000 other people. He was being a normal person when a store employee came out and took Jason out of line and escorted him into the store to get his iPhone. What would you have done? Duh. I would have gone in with the store employee. I think Jason got some bad publicity for that but as they say, there’s no such thing as bad publicity.

Jason Bateman isn’t a favorite of mine like he was when he was a young boy, but I do think he’s a decent actor and a good person. I truly feel sorry for him for being related to Paul Anka, but he’ll figure things out eventually.

I loved her as cute Kelly Kapowski on Saved by the Bell. I did NOT like her as vixen Valerie Malone on Beverly Hills, 90210. I liked that she wasn’t stick thin and had a little bit of meat on her bones. Overall, I’m a fan of Tiffani Amber Thiessen.

Tiffani Amber Thiessen was born on January 23, 1974 in Long Beach, California. Her uncle is the one who suggested that she get into show business. She did some beauty pageants and modeling, and then landed some commercials. Her first big break came when she landed the role of Kelly Kapowski on Saved by the Bell. When that ended, she changed gears and portrayed evil and bitchy Valerie Malone on Beverly Hills, 90210. Thiessen has also had small parts on shows like Charles in Charge, Married with Children, Valerie’s Family (aka The Hogan Family), Step by Step, and Blossom.

Tiffani currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Brady Smith. The happy couple became first time parents just a few days ago. Their daughter Harper was born on June 15, 2010. Thiessen has recently played the role of Elizabeth Burke on the USA Network TV show, White Collar. The second season will begin airing on July 13, 2010. Thiessen should be able to keep herself busy between being a new mom and acting on a hit TV show. I wish her luck.

I really only watched this show when I was visiting relatives in North Dakota during the summer. They seemed to like the show. I didn’t dislike it, but I never made time to watch it. I remember thinking the old lady on there was funny. I like funny.

Who’s the Boss ran on ABC for eight years from 1984-1992 and shot a then unknown young Alyssa Milano to fame. It also helped prolong Tony Danza’s career. He had just ended a six year run on the TV show Taxi when he got the part on Who’s the Boss. Other stars of the show were little Danny Pintauro, Katherine Helmond (from the show SOAP), and Judith Light (from the soap One Live to Live).

I guess Tony Danza was pretty much a bitch on the set. I hated hearing that because I was a fan. He pulled a Kirk Cameron on Growing Pains or Robert Reed on The Brady Bunch. He was a Mr. Big Dick and threw his weight around. Bummer.

• The exterior shots of the home used in the opening sequence in real life was located at 13 Onondaga St., Rye, New York.
• The fake address on the show was 3344 Oakhills Drive, in Fairfield, Connecticut.

When the show ended in 1992, the stars went on to mostly have success. Tony Danza appeared in more sitcoms (though not as successful) and, coincidentally, his characters were all named Tony. Smort. He also had his own failed talk show and appeared on Broadway. Oh yeah, he took time to break his back skiing in 1993 and then lost his house in the 1994 Northridge earthquake. Is that what they call karma? Don’t be a bitch, Tony. Hey, that could be a new sitcom! I should be a writer.

Alyssa Milano went on to get lots of tattoos, make albums in Japan, and pose naked in a magazine. She also appeared in Melrose Place, Charmed, and other shows. Little Samantha Micelli is getting ready to hit 40 soon.

Danny Pintauro went on to become gay. That’s cool. I’m glad he’s out and not hiding it. Nobody should have to hide it.

Judith Light and Katherine Helmond have continued to act. Helmond is in her 80′s and still hilarious. She and Betty White should hook up. Judith has had a long career and continues to nab great roles.

So yeah, Who’s the Boss was a cute show. I just saw it recently on the Hallmark channel, so I guess it’s being shown. The episode I saw was where Sam gets her first hickey. Slut. I like the concept of Who’s the Boss. Everyone should have their own manservant.

I watched Alice in Wonderland last night with my husband. It was weird. I feel like I had a normal childhood but I guess I’ve never read or seen Alice in Wonderland. I knew something about Alice falling down a hole, but that was only because of a line Cindy Brady said on The Brady Bunch. Anyhoo, Johnny Depp was in the movie I watched last night. It was hard to recognize him with all the makeup and such (he was The Mad Hatter). I didn’t sense his hotness in this role at all.

John Christopher Depp II was born on June 9, 1963. I don’t know that he’s best known for anything. It just seems like he’s always been around. Depp was born in Kentucky but his family moved a lot when he was a kid. Johnny’s parents divorced when he was 15 and he dropped out of school shortly after to become a rock star. He tried to return to school a few weeks later but the principal told him to go and follow his dream. Mmm……I wonder if that person is still employed.

Johnny Depp first landed on the radar via the TV show 21 Jump Street. This show made him a teen idol during the late 1980′s which he was very uncomfortable with. Depp wanted out of the show as soon as his contract was up. (He signed a six year contract thinking the show wouldn’t last.) He vowed to only make movies he wanted to do as soon as the 21 Jump Street contract was up. He later said that he specifically chose to appear in films that he found personally interesting rather than those he thought would succeed at the box office. I think that’s cool and says a lot about him as a person.

JOHNNY TRIVIA

• Turned down the role of Jack Traven in the movie Speed. That role went to Keanu Reeves.
• Was originally cast as John Smith in Mr. & Mrs. Smith but turned it down after being overworked with other movies he was shooting. That role eventually went to Brad Pitt who fell in love with Angelina Jolie on the set. If Johnny Depp had taken this role, would Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston still be together?
• Nicolas Cage got him his first acting job.
• Was suspended from school once for mooning his gym teacher. Awesome.
• One of his jobs early on while trying to make it as a musician was selling ballpoint pens over the phone. Fun.
